They draw on bark, wood, leaves, glass, ceramic, fabric and much more. See the photos on this page with some examples of how they have been used in the activities in the books.

    We think the Opinel whittling knife is the best in the business. It's foldable for safety and the round tip is great for learning to whittle. There are multiple whittling projects in each of the books, and any time an activity calls for a stick to be used - it can be a whittled one just for fun! Warning though, this can be very addictive as it's such a mindful and satisfying activity.
